By taylormader11 Let's get one thing straight first off, I loved the first Equestria Girls movie and all its songs and storyline but there was one thing that seemed out of place and even though I liked them, it was the songs. Nearly all of the songs except for This Strange World felt like they didn't belong in the movie and were just put there for a future buck to be made on the soundtrack. However this movie changes it all. Each of the songs has a purpose in the movie, from the Dazzlings singing their siren songs to maintain their control over the students at CHS from the Rainbooms singing Awesome As I Want to Be to signal the start of a feud between the group that would lead to the final battle. Each song had a role to play in the movie and they fit perfectly, that and the animation seemed to be a lot better than the previous movie.
Albeit it, it's going off of the same great animation that brought us that DBZ style fight between Tirek and Twilight, there was a lot we were expecting in this film and they did it with flying colors. Then we get to the Dazzlings. Where as Sunset Shimmer seemed to be almost like Luna in the Series Premiere of FIM where she wanted absolute control over everyone/pony, the Dazzlings not only provided us with a villian that could have different variants in the show seeing as their original forms were based in Equestria, but also there's a bit of mythos in them seeing as we get a small history lesson in Starswirl the Bearded which again pisses most off as we would like to know more about him but let's wait until season five before going on the rant and rave cycle. Also, the Dazzlings voices perfectly fit with what they were supposed to be, they were sirens and their songs are supposed to be soothing in a way that you can't ignore them and they pull it off to the point that I'm sure some people watching this in theaters thought they were being put under their spell. The one thing I didn't like about them however was their normal/Equestrian forms from the end of the movie. To me, sirens should be a mermaid version of what they are, so basically merponies for the Dazzlings, and instead we get these dragon hybrids that look more like the windigoes from the Hearths Warming episode.
Minus this one little fault, Rainbow Rocks was a movie that had a lot going for it and it appears that the producers wanted the hype to be high for it which they did by releasing the songs a few days early. I thought Welcome to the Show was the opening song for the Battle of the Bands competition but it ended up being the final battle song). All in all, this was a great movie with again all of our favorite characters together again. Now let the meme's flow and let all learn how the Rainbow, Rainbow Rocks.
