Earlier Today released a translation patch for the Japanese version of Tales of Vesperia, allowing you to play the game in English on your Playstation 3. If your Playstation 3 is on or below firmware 3.55 then follow the steps below to your copy of the game. Usage of this patch requires a PS3 console that can run unsigned software, also known as homebrew. We cannot take responsibility for anything you may choose to do or install in the process of acquiring homebrew functionality for your PS3. Please do not try to modify your PS3 unless you are fully aware of and understand the consequences and possible risks. As of the release of this patch, there is no known software exploit to run homebrew on or downgrade a console that has been updated past firmware version 3.55.

Requirements to run this patched version of Tales of Vesperia, you will need:. A PS3 capable of running homebrew. A copy of the Japanese PS3 game disc of Tales of Vesperia. A Windows PC to run the patching tool Installed DataPlease note that the Install option on the title screen does not work properly with this patch. Please delete any existing Installed Game Data for Tales of Vesperia, shown as テイルズ オブ ヴェスペリア （インストールデータ） with a size of 3441 MB in the Game Data Utility section of the XMB.
Other installed data such as DLC costumes or skits should be compatible, but will not be translated. There are no known save file incompatibilities. Saves created with the original Japanese version can be loaded with the patch and vice-versa.
Instructions. Extract ToVPatcher Extract the entire contents of the ToVPatcher archive to any, ideally empty, folder on your computer. Get your Tales of Vesperia (PS3) game files This is most easily done by inserting the game disc into a PS3 that can run homebrew, then either copying them to an USB storage medium with a file manager or transferring them over the local network with an FTP tool. Copy the files to patch to ToVPatcher's folder The following files need to be patched:.
EBOOT.BIN. btl.svo. chara.svo. chat.svo.
effect.svo. menu.svo. scenario.dat. string.svo.

Acquire ebootMOD To modify EBOOT.BIN, we need a way to de- and encrypt it. For legal reasons, we cannot provide a tool to do this, so you'll have to find it yourself. Place them so that your preferred backup loader can find and recognize them. Run Tales of Vesperia! And that's it!
You should now be able to boot a patched, English version of Tales of Vesperia!

Anywhos, I can't really help you, but what I can do is give you this bit of advice - Torrents suck ass, and are slow unless you have a badass connection. If you want real speed, research this wonderful program called Cryptload (jDownloader/UniversalShareDownloader/eLephant also work) and find yourself a megaupload or rapidshare link sharing forum. Things that would usually take days to download will take hours through one of these programs. Actually, I'm not far enough into the game to determine whether or not there's anything really romantic between the Prince and Elika, but holy shit you need to get PoP.

I'll definately give the cryptload thing a look. But i'm quite happy with torrents. It generally takes me two/four days to download a new game. Thats perfect cuz thats generally how much time i need to finish the one i'm on before it.
I probably should have mentioned i'm a big fan of jrpg's and watch a lotta anime.Same here, though I'm a bit burnt out of the FF series. I typically enjoy them but while I have enjoyed all of the modern FFs (except VIII, heh heh), none of them except for IX and maybe XII stand out as 'exceptional' in my mind. IX was also the only one with a love story that was worth a damn, though VIII's wasn't bad. If you configure Cryptload right, you'll have downloads completed mere hours after wanting them.
